Objective of Bhagya Laxmi Scheme Karnataka :

• Encourage the birth of female children in economically disadvantaged families.
• Enhance the status of girls within families and communities, promoting their birth in economically vulnerable households.
• Provide financial support to the girl child through her mother, father, or legal guardian, subject to meeting specific criteria.
• Elevate the status of girls, thereby uplifting society as a whole.

Benefits of Bhagya Lakshmi Yojana :

1. Financial assistance at birth: The mother of a girl child born under the scheme receives a one-time financial aid of Rs. 19,300.
2. Health insurance: All girl children covered under the scheme receive health insurance coverage of up to Rs. 25,000 annually.
3. Education scholarship: Girl children enrolled in the scheme are entitled to receive an annual scholarship ranging from Rs. 300 to Rs. 1,000 from classes 1 to 10.
4. Maturity benefit: Upon reaching 18 years of age, the girl child is entitled to receive a lump sum amount of Rs. 34,751.
5. Death benefit: In the unfortunate event of the accidental or natural death of the girl child, her parents receive compensation of Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 42,500, respectively.
