The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been assigned the task of administering the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) and managing the online application process for admission to the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) at various Central/State Universities/Institutions, including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges for the Academic Session 2024-25. The NCET applications now available until April 30, 2024. Read the complete article to know all the details.

ITEP is a Dual Major Programme, with the first major focusing on Education with School-Specific Stage specialisation, and the second major in a chosen discipline.

NTA will conduct the National Common Entrance Test [NCET] 2024 in 178 Cities and 13 mediums across India, utilizing the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for the Academic Session 2024-25, according to the provided schedule below :

Applying for NCET 2024 :

Step 1 : Registration Form

– Complete the Online Application Form and make a note of the system-generated Application Number.
– Provide all required details, create a Password, select a Security Question, and enter the corresponding Answer.
– Upon successful submission, an Application number will generated, which will used for all future references.
– For subsequent logins, use the system-generated Application Number and the Password created.

Step 2: Application Form

– Log in using the system-generated Application Number and pre-created Password.
– Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, university/programme selection, test paper details, choose Examination Cities, and upload images/documents (if required).

The following fee structure is applicable for NCET 2024 :

Step 3 : Fee Payment

– Once Steps 1 and 2 are completed, proceed to pay the examination fee.
– Payment can made online through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI.
– Additional processing charges and GST may apply, payable by the candidate.
– After successful payment, a Confirmation Page of the online Application Form will generated.
– If the Confirmation Page is not generated after fee payment, contact the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway for assistance or refund.

Important – Download, save, and print a copy of the Confirmation Page for future reference, which is available for download after successful fee remittance.

Eligibility Criteria For NCET 2024 :

Age Limit :

There is no age limit for candidates appearing in the NCET 2024. Candidates who have passed the class 12/equivalent examination or are appearing in 2024, regardless of their age, are eligible to appear in the NCET 2024 examination. However, candidates must fulfill the age criteria (if any) of the University/Institution/Government College they wish to join.

Qualifying Examinations :

i. The final examination of the 10+2 system conducted by recognized Central/State Boards such as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi; etc.
ii. Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
iii. Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
iv. Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with a minimum of five subjects.
v. Any Public School/Board/University examination in India or any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
vi. Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
vii. Candidates who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should obtain a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) confirming the equivalence of their examination to the Class 12 Examination.

Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination :

The conditions regarding the year of appearance in the Class 12/equivalent examination will based on the requirements of Central/State Universities/Institutions, including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges (where applicable). Candidates must verify their eligibility on the respective Central/State Universities/Institutions’ websites, including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and Government Colleges.

NCET 2024 Choice of Examination Cities :

– Candidates must select any two cities of their choice from the list provided in Appendix III during the application process.
– Selection of examination centre cities is limited to the state of permanent or present address only.
– In the event of a limited number of candidates from a city, the NTA reserves the right to merge one, two, or more cities.
– The decision of the NTA regarding the allotment of the examination city/centre is final, and no further correspondence or requests will entertained.
– Candidates are advised to select their own city or neighbouring cities within their state of residence and not distant cities in other states to avoid inconvenience.

e-Admit Card For NCET 2024 :

The e-Admit Card will provisionally issued to candidates via the NTA website : ncet.samarth.ac.in. This issuance is subject to the satisfaction of eligibility criteria and the submission of the prescribed application fee to the NTA.

Re-evaluation or Re-checking of Result :

a) The result for NCET 2024 will processed based on the Final Answer Keys. Any grievances regarding the Answer Key(s) after the Declaration of Result of NCET 2024 will not considered.

b) The marks obtained by a candidate will used for computing the result of NCET 2024.

c) There will no provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of the result. No correspondence regarding this matter will entertained.

d) Score Cards for NCET 2024 will not dispatched to the candidates. Candidates are advised to download their Score Cards from the website : ncet.samarth.ac.in.
