Update on the DSLSA and Lok Adalat :
The Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), supported by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), will hold National Lok Adalats across all Delhi District Courts Complexes. These include Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Patiala House, Rohini, Saket, Dwarka, and Rouse Avenue Courts Complexes. These Lok Adalats aim to resolve various civil and criminal cases through amicable settlements, excluding divorce cases, throughout 2024.

- Apart from the mentioned District Court Complexes, the National Lok Adalat will also occur at the High Court of Delhi, Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRTs), Permanent Lok Adalats, Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, and District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions.
- Litigants or parties can apply to have their cases listed in the National Lok Adalat before the respective Court(s), Forums, or Tribunals where their case is ongoing.
- For matters before litigation, parties can submit an application to the office of the undersigned at least seven days before the National Lok Adalat date.
National Lok Adalat Token Registration 2024 :
- Event Details : The Delhi State Legal Services Authority, in collaboration with the National Legal Services Authority, is organizing a National Lok Adalat on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
- Venue and Time : The event will take place from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at various locations including the High Court of Delhi, all District Courts, Debt Recovery Tribunals, Delhi State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions, and Permanent Lok Adalats.
- Case Categories : The Lok Adalat will focus on resolving various civil and criminal compoundable cases, including cheque dishonor cases under Section 138 of the NI Act, money recovery cases, motor accident claims, labor disputes, electricity and water bill cases, matrimonial disputes (except divorce), land acquisition cases, services matters, revenue cases, and other civil cases.
- Traffic Challans : Traffic challans, including compoundable ones pending until January 31, 2024, in virtual courts will also be addressed during the Lok Adalat. Litigants and lawyers are advised to apply for referral of their cases/challans before the concerned court or authority by May 4, 2024.
- Download Procedure : Litigants can download the challan slips directly from the Delhi Traffic Police website or through a provided QR code link. The website will make the challan download option available from May 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Litigants or their advocates must present the printed challan slip at the designated court complex on the day of the Lok Adalat for disposal of their cases.

Nature of Cases Referred to Lok Adalat :
- Any case pending before any court.
- Any dispute not yet filed in court but likely to be brought before it.
- Matters not compoundable under the law shall not be settled in Lok Adalat.
How to Refer a Case to Lok Adalat ?
Case pending before the court :
- Parties agree to settle the dispute in Lok Adalat.
- One party applies to the court for referral.
- Court deems the matter suitable for Lok Adalat settlement.
Pre-litigative stage dispute :
- State or District Legal Services Authority receives an application.
- Authority refers the matter to Lok Adalat for amicable settlement.
