According to the Hindu calendar, the Mahashivratri festival celebrated on the Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month. Types Of  Kanwar Yatra :

1. Common kanwar:

2. Dak Kanwar Yatra:

One or two members of the team involved in this journey constantly run barefoot with the Ganges water in their hands. When one tired, the other runs.
