  2. No narcotic substances such as ganja, charas, liquor, etc. should consumed during the Kanwar Yatra.
  3. One should never eat non-vegetarian food during Kanwar Yatra.

1. Haridwar Route: This is the most popular route, where devotees travel from Haridwar to Neelkanth Mahadev Temple in Rishikesh or the Pura Mahadeva Temple in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh.

 

2. Gaumukh Route: Devotees start their journey from Gaumukh, the source of the Ganges, and travel to their respective destinations.

 

3. Gangotri Route: Another significant route begins at Gangotri, with devotees carrying water to temples like Kashi Vishwanath in Varanasi or Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar, Jharkhand.

 

4. Sultanganj to Deoghar Route: This route involves collecting water from the Ganges at Sultanganj and traveling to the Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar, which is approximately 105 kilometers away

What is the history of Kanwar Yatra ?

According to the Hindu calendar, the Mahashivratri festival celebrated on the Chaturdashi of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month. Types Of  Kanwar Yatra :

1. Common kanwar:

In the normal Kanwar Yatra, Kanwariyas can rest wherever they want. People associated with social organizations set up pandals for such Kanwariyas. After lunch and refreshments, the tour begins again. While resting, the kanwar is placed on a stand so that it does not touch the ground.

2. Dak Kanwar Yatra:

Talking about the Dak Kanwar Yatra, it is completed in 24 hours. A group of 10 or more youths go to the Ganga ghat in vehicles with the resolve to bring Kanwar in this journey. These people are here. One or two members of the team involved in this journey constantly run barefoot with the Ganges water in their hands. When one tired, the other runs. 3. Tableau:

5.Standing Kanwar Yatra:
