The Maharashtra government came up with the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana (MTSKPY) to provide farmers with solar-powered pumps.. What is Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana ?

Under the Magel Tyala Solar Pump Yojana, solar agricultural pumps will installed across the state. Realizing the importance of solar energy since 2015, the Government of Maharashtra has started implementing various solar agriculture pump schemes, earlier, “Atal Solar Agriculture Pump Yojana” and “Mukhyamantri Solar Agriculture Pump Yojana” have been successfully implemented.

The Government of Maharashtra recently announced the launch of Magel Tak Solar Agriculture Pump Scheme registration in 2024, currently, solar agricultural pumps are being used under the “Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana – Component B.” As of September 6, 2024, a total of 2,63,156 solar agricultural pumps have been installed in Maharashtra.

The scheme is designed to help farmers who have access to sustainable water sources but do not have access to electricity for irrigation using conventional pumps. Under this program, farmers can install solar-powered pumps for agricultural purposes, if you do not get electricity supply, then you can install solar pumps and get help in irrigation of the farm.

Eligibility Criteria for Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana (MTSKPY)  :

1. A dependable water source, such as a well or tube well, is necessary for farmers.
2. Those farmers who do not currently have irrigation electrical connections are eligible to apply.
3. Farmers with up to five acres of land can purchase a 3 HP pump. They can get a 5 HP or 7.5 HP pump if they have more than 5 acres.
4. Preference would given to farmers in isolated, tribal areas or in villages without electricity.
5. Farmers who have asked for but not been granted an electricity connection are likewise eligible to do so.
