How does Digi Sign work ?

1. Aadhaar eSign : You verify your identity with Digio by entering your mobile number and email. Then, Digio sends a one-time password (OTP) to your Aadhaar-registered mobile number. A digital signature certificate (DSC) is created and applied to the document. Within seconds, you receive the signed document.

2. Electronic / Stylus Signature : After receiving an OTP to your email or mobile, you can draw your signature directly on the document.

Who can use Digi Sign for e-signing ?

  1. Anyone with an Aadhaar number, linked to a valid mobile number or verified through a biometric device.

Digio registration and login in 2024 :

  1. Registration :

    • Visit the Digio website or open the Digio mobile app.
    • Click on the “Sign Up” or “Register” button.
    • Enter your details such as name, email address, mobile number, and create a password.
    • Verify your email address and mobile number through the OTP (One-Time Password) sent to you.
    • Complete any additional verification steps, if required.
    • Once verified, your registration process is complete.
  2. Login :

    • Visit the Digio website or open the Digio mobile app.
    • Click on the “Login” button.
    • Enter your registered email address or mobile number.
    • Provide the password associated with your account.
    • Click on the “Login” or “Sign In” button.
    • If you have enabled two-factor authentication, enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number or email address.
    • Upon successful verification, you will be logged in to your Digio account and can access its features and services.

Types of documents that cannot be e-Signed :

  1. Negotiable instruments : These are documents defined under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
  2. Power of Attorney : Documents defined under the Powers-of-Attorney Act, 1882.
  3. Trust documents : These are documents defined under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882.
  4. Wills : Documents defined under the Indian Succession Act, 1925, including any other testamentary disposition.

Documents and data safety and security :

  1. Digio’s application code has been audited and certified by a trusted organization called CDAC for security checks. It meets all guidelines from authorities like CCA and UIDAI.
  2. Digio ensures bank-level security for your sensitive documents.
  3. The signature certificate linked to your Aadhaar e-Sign is valid only for 30 minutes. After that, the private key is deleted to prevent misuse. However, the transaction you signed remains valid.
  4. There’s no need to revoke the certificate because it automatically expires in 30 minutes, and the private key is deleted right after creating the signature.
