This suite facilitates online visit requests and grievance resolution.

Consisting of three main components :

1. e-Prisons MIS : This Management Information System is utilised by prisons for their daily operations.
2. NPIP : The National Prisons Information Portal is a citizen-centric platform displaying statistical data from various jails across the country.
3. Kara Bazaar : A dedicated portal for exhibiting and selling products crafted by inmates from different jails nationwide.

ePrisons service allow visitors to register themselves and book an appointment to see an inmate. This helps visitors to talk to their relatives in prison online while staying at home.

Steps to Make e-mulakat Registration 2024 :

Step 1 : Visit eprisons.nic.in and select “New Visit Registration.”
Step 2 : Complete the form with the required details, including the prison to visit and prisoner information.
3rd Step : If available, choose the Video Conferencing option.
Step 4 : Submit the form and enter the OTP sent to your mobile number and email address on the next screen.
Step 5 : You’ll see the visit registration details on your screen.
6th Step : On approval, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the date and time of the Video Conferencing (VC) session. The email will contain a link to log in to the VC.
Step 7 : Open the link provided in your preferred browser (Internet Explorer or Google Chrome) or copy and paste the URL into your browser.
Step 8 : Follow the instructions to install the browser extension mentioned in the link.
9th Step : Once connected, enter your name and click “Join.”
Step 10 : Enter your pin to validate the request (the pin can only be entered at the allotted date and time).
