The Hall Ticket for the Common Written Examination scheduled for 05th May 2024, concerning the positions of Typist, Telephone Operator, Cashier, and Xerox Operator within the Madras High Court Service across Chennai, Madurai, and Tiruchirappalli Zones is now made available on the official website mhc.tn.gov.in.

The Hall Ticket for the Written Examination set to take place on 04th May 2024 for the position of Driver  within the Madras High Court Service across Chennai, Madurai, and Tiruchirappalli zones has also released on the official website.

Registration Process for Madras High Court Recruitment :

    • Visit mhc.tn.gov.in and navigate to the ‘Register yourself’ section.
    • Fill in the required details :
      1. Email ID
      2. Mobile Number
      3. Name (as per School Certificate or Govt. Gazette)
      4. Aadhar Number
      5. Create a new password
      6. Retype the password
      7. Enter the captcha code
    • Upon successful registration, a message confirming registration will appear, and an OTP will sent to the registered mobile number for login.
  • Step One (Personal Information) :

    • Enter personal details as per the application form requirements, including uploading a scanned passport-size photograph and full signature in Tamil or English.
  • Step Two (Educational Qualification Details) :

    • Provide educational particulars as requested in the application form.
  • 3rd Step (Additional Information) :

    • Fill in additional information as per the application form.
    • Upload necessary documents.
  • Step Four (Declaration) :

    • Complete the declaration form.
  • Step Five (Confirm Your Details) :

    • Review the details provided in steps 1 to 4.
    • Confirm by selecting the “SUBMIT” button.
    • If any modifications are required, select “PREVIOUS STEP” to make changes.
    • On selecting “SUBMIT,” applicants not required to pay the fee will receive a message confirming successful submission.
    • Applicants required to pay the fee will receive options to view, download challan, or upload challan. They should download the challan, make the payment, and upload the challan copy.
    • After completing the process, a message confirming the successful submission of the application will appear.
    • Applicants can view and download their filled-in application form in PDF format.
  • Upload of Documents :

    • Upload necessary documents such as Destitute Widow Certificate, PSTM Certificate, PH Certificate, and certificates for priority reservation claims made in the online application.

Mode of Payment of Examination Fees :

    • Challan Generation and Payment :
      • After submitting the application, non-exempt applicants must print the generated ‘Challan.’
      • Remit the required fees along with service charges at any branch of Indian Bank before the specified deadline.
      • The bank will retain the Bank Copy of the Challan and return the Applicant Copy and High Court’s Copy to the applicant for future reference.
    • Failure to Pay :
      • Failure to pay the prescribed fee within the specified time will lead to the outright rejection of the application.
      • No correspondence regarding fee payment will entertained in such cases.
    • Exemption Claim and Eligibility :
      • If an applicant claims exemption from the examination fee but is later found ineligible, their candidature will rejected at any stage of the selection process.
    • Mode of Payment Restrictions :
      • No other mode of fee payment, including Demand Draft, Postal Order, Cheque, NEFT, RTGS, or any other online payment method, will accepted.
      • Applications submitted with alternative payment modes will summarily rejected.
    • Refund Policy :
      • Fees once paid will not refunded or adjusted for any other recruitment, irrespective of circumstances.

Reservation Criteria for Recruitment :

  • Reservation rules applicable in Tamil Nadu will followed for all posts.
  • Candidates from Tamil Nadu belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Castes (Arunthathiars), Scheduled Tribes, Most Backward Classes & De-notified Communities, Backward Classes, and Backward Classes (Muslims) will considered as belonging to their respective communities.
  • Candidates from other states / union territories will treated as ‘Unreserved Category’, irrespective of their community status in their respective states / union territories.
  • Such candidates cannot seek age relaxation, reservation in appointment, or fee concession and must compete under the “Unreserved Category (UR)” by paying the prescribed fee.

    Destitute Widow Defined As :

    • A destitute widow refers to a widow with a total monthly income not exceeding Rs. 4,000, including all sources of income.
    • It includes widows born outside Tamil Nadu who became widows after marrying someone from Tamil Nadu and permanently residing in Tamil Nadu, and widows born in Tamil Nadu who became widows after marrying someone from another state and settling permanently in Tamil Nadu.
    • Candidates claiming to destitute widows must upload a certificate from the relevant authority specified in Annexure-D before the notification date.

  • Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) Definition :
    • A person with benchmark disability refers to someone with at least forty percent of a specified disability, as certified by the designated certifying authority under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
    • On selection, candidates claiming reservation under the Differently Abled Category must submit a certificate from a Government Hospital Medical Officer certifying the nature of the disability and confirming the candidate’s ability to efficiently perform duties. Persons with blindness and low vision are ineligible to apply.
  • Persons Studied in Tamil Medium (PSTM) :
    • Persons who have studied in Tamil medium from elementary education to the prescribed educational qualification are considered PSTM candidates.
    • Such candidates claiming special reservation must produce a certificate specified in Annexure-E from the school/institution where they studied.
    • Special reservation under PSTM does not apply to posts under Class-IV of the Tamil Nadu Basic Service Rules, where the required qualification is the ability to read and write Tamil.

How to Access the Admit Card for Examination ?

  1. Go to the official website – mhc.tn.gov.in
  2. On the home screen click on the notification – ” Download the Hall Ticket for the Common Written Exam
  3. Add all the details : Application No (OR) Registered Email ID and Date of Birth
  4. Enter the captcha.
  5. Now download your admit card for future reference.

Qualifications for Appointment :

  • Good Conduct and Character :
    • The applicant must possess good conduct, character, and antecedents suitable for appointment.
    • Shortlisted candidates for the Viva-voce must provide a certificate of character and conduct from two responsible individuals unrelated to them, residing or working in the candidate’s locality and well-acquainted with them personally.
  • Health and Habits :
    • The applicant must of sound health and clean habits, except for those claiming reservation under the ‘Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016’.
  • Eligibility Criteria :
    • The candidate must :
      • A citizen of India, or
      • A subject of Nepal, or
      • A subject of Bhutan, or
      • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.
    • Candidates falling under categories (b), (c), and (d) must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government.

Disqualification for Appointment :

  • Character and Antecedents : Disqualification unless the candidate’s character and antecedents are suitable for the service.
  • Marital Status : Disqualification for candidates with more than one living spouse or for women married to someone with a living wife.
  • Past Employment History : Disqualification if previously dismissed, removed, or discharged on stigmatic termination of service.
  • Legal Issues : Disqualification if convicted, acquitted, or discharged of any offense, or temporarily or permanently debarred or disqualified by judicial bodies.
  • Disciplinary Proceedings : Disqualification if disciplinary proceedings or penalties have imposed or contemplated by any disciplinary authority or court.
  • Influence and Misconduct : Disqualification for attempting to influence, obtain favors, impersonate, submit forged documents, provide false information, or use improper means during the selection process.
  • Misbehaviour : Disqualification for harassing, threatening, using un-parliamentary language, or misbehaving with examination officials or candidates.
  • Non-Compliance : Disqualification for disobeying examination-related directions or engaging in misconduct during examination proceedings.
