Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated two initiatives on Saturday aimed at offering financial support to students in Classes 9 to 12. With an allocation of Rs 1,650 crore in the state budget, the schemes aim to empower students financially. Under the “Namo Lakshmi Yogana,” girls in Classes 9 to 12 will receive Rs 50,000 over four years. Additionally, students, both girls and boys, who have chosen the science stream in Classes 11 and 12 will receive Rs 25,000 under the “Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana.”

• Also known as the Gujarat Free Tablet Scheme, it offers tablets to eligible students for a nominal fee of Rs. 1,000/-.
• Eligible applicants include students in the first year of graduation courses at any government – recognised educational institution, as well as polytechnic students.
• The tablets come preloaded with educational content such as e-textbooks, recorded video lectures, e-books, and other learning materials.
• To qualify, students’ annual family income must be below Rs. 1,00,000/-.
• While the tablet isn’t entirely free, students only need to pay Rs. 1,000/- for it.
• The tablets, which are Lenovo or Acer brands, typically have a market value ranging from Rs. 8,000/- to Rs. 9,000/-.
• Eligible students can apply for the tablet by submitting an application form at their respective college or university.

How to Apply ?

• Obtain the Application Form from the Administration Department of the student’s College or University.
• Complete the Application Form accurately and ensure all necessary documents are attached.
• Pay the application fee of Rs. 1,000/- and obtain a receipt for the transaction.
• Submit the completed application form along with all the required documents to the office.
• College Officials will then upload the application details onto the Digital Gujarat Portal.
• Knowledge Consortium Officials will verify the received applications.
• Selected students will receive tablets distributed at their respective College or University.

Eligibility :

• Applicants must be permanent residents of Gujarat.
• Applicants must be enrolled as students.
• Applicants should be in their first year of college.
• The annual income of the student should not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/-.
• Students pursuing polytechnic courses are also eligible to apply.

Scheme Assistance Amount :
