 Nios Admission (April) 2024 Last Date

The NIOS Public Examination (Theory) for Secondary and Senior Secondary Courses scheduled for April 2024 will commence from the 6th of April, 2024. These examinations will take place at designated Exam Centres located both in India and Overseas. Learners can register directly through the NIOS website or visit their nearest AI (Study Centre)/Facilitation Centre for assistance. Additionally, they can seek help for online registration from the concerned Regional Centre of NIOS. Common Services Centres of the Government of India also offer online registration services nationwide.

How to apply for NIOS 2024 : 

1. Visit the official NIOS website – sdmis.nios.ac.in
2. Read the guidelines and select your state and identity type.
3. Enter your identity number and choose the course you’re applying for.
4. Proceed to the basic information section and fill out the admission form accurately.
5. Enable the declaration box and move to the next step.
6. Provide optional information and submit the form.
7. Select the subjects you want to appear for and choose the exam centre.
8. Scan and upload the required documents.
9. Verify the details on the form for accuracy.
10. Make the payment, and track your admission status online.
11. Refer to NIOS exam centres 2024 for information on exam centres in your area.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to the Secondary Course:

• To be eligible for NIOS Admission to the Secondary Course, a learner must have passed class VIII and attained a minimum age of 14 years. 
• Those who have previously studied at the secondary level can seek admission in NIOS either to complete their course or improve their performance. Residential proof of the learner is required for admission.

Documents Required for NIOS 2024 :

1. Identity proof: Aadhaar card/passport/ration card or other valid ID proof.

2. Birth certificate for proof of date of birth.

3. Address proof: Aadhaar card/water bill/electricity bill/voter ID/ration card.

4. Signature, preferably in black ink.

5. Recent passport-size color photograph.

6. Class 8th mark sheet for NIOS 10th admission.

7. Class 10th mark sheet for NIOS 12th admission.

8. Disability certificate for PwD candidates.

 9. Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

10. Ex-serviceman certificate for candidates under the Ex-serviceman category. 

NIOS Admission Regarding Details :

1. NIOS provides fee concessions for females, SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen, and differently-abled/Divyang learners as per NIOS norms.
2. Upon confirmation of admission, learners receive an Identity Card containing their admission particulars along with an Enrolment Number.
3. Once registered, admission is valid for five years from the date of admission.
4. Learners who have completed the Secondary/Senior Secondary Course from a recognised Board of School Education can seek admission in NIOS for the same course, subject to certain conditions.
5. While the admission process is entirely online, corrections can be made based on the guidelines displayed on the NIOS website.
6. In case of a lost Identity Card, learners can apply for a duplicate by following the prescribed procedure.

NIOS Exam Instructions 2024 :

1. The Intimation-cum-Hall Ticket can be downloaded from the NIOS website:  sdmis.nios.ac.in.
2. The result of the examination is expected to be declared within 7 weeks after the last date of the examination. Enquiries about the actual date of result declaration will not be entertained. The result will be promptly available on the NIOS website: sdmis.nios.ac.in.
3. Successful candidates will receive their Mark-Sheet-cum-Certificate and Migration-cum-Transfer Certificate directly through their respective AI. In case of residential addresses available at NIOS, these documents will be sent to them by post.
4. There will be no changes in the examination dates.
5. Payment of examination fees entitles the student to appear in the theory examination without having to pay anything extra at the examination center, provided they are otherwise eligible.

• The Senior Secondary course in – English, Hindi, Odia, and other mediums.
• The Secondary course and the Senior Secondary courses offer a wide range of subjects – languages, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Economics, Business Studies, and more.
• Learners have the flexibility to choose their subjects according to their interests and goals
• Learners can change their subjects during the validity period of their admission, with the option to choose additional subjects or replace existing ones.
• However, subjects already passed cannot be changed.
• Learners have the freedom to choose subject combinations and can opt for vocational education courses along with academic subjects at both Secondary and Senior Secondary levels.
